Week 6 of the 2024 fantasy football season has arrived and managers must decide which quarterbacks to use in their lineups. Recent individual performances and direct weekly matchups are often among the most important factors when identifying legitimate starters. Here are the best ones to target and fade this week.

Dak Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks to target in Week 6, having finished among the top 15 quarterbacks in each of his past four games. He also gets a favorable matchup this week when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Detroit Lions' defense.

The Lions are among the best NFL teams in defending the run but rank among the worst in passing defense, so Prescott will see a boost to his weekly value in fantasy football.

The same can be said for Baker Mayfield, who's having an excellent year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He faces off against the New Orleans Saints, who have a similar defensive profile.

Mayfield has ranked QB7 or better in four of his five games this year and has scored the third-most total fantasy points in 2024. He joins Prescott and the following list of quarterbacks as the best Week 6 targets.

Must Starts

  • Lamar Jackson
  • Jayden Daniels
  • Josh Allen
  • Dak Prescott
  • Jalen Hurts
  • Baker Mayfield
  • CJ Stroud

Justin Herbert headlines the list of quarterbacks to fade this week. Despite finishing each of his NFL seasons ranked among the top 15 fantasy quarterbacks, his best weekly finish this season is just QB22. Things won't get any easier for him in Week 6 when he gets a difficult matchup with the Denver Broncos' elite defense.

Deshaun Watson is another quarterback who should clearly be faded this week, as he has consistently struggled this season. Through the first five weeks, he is ranked as the 22nd overall quarterback and cannot be relied on in lineups. Here are some other players who should be avoided.

Must Sits

  • Justin Herbert
  • Aaron Rodgers
  • Deshaun Watson
  • Trevor Lawrence
  • Will Levis

DFS Fades

  • Brock Purdy
  • Kirk Cousins
  • Justin Herbert
  • Jared Goff
