Tyler Boyd - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns
The Cincinnati Bengals received devastating news this week that superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase will miss at least the next month with a hip injury. Their other wide receivers, including Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, will need to step up.
Boyd is currently ranked in the top 25 in Fantasy Football points per game among wide receivers. This is despite being the third wide receiver on the Bengals' depth chart. Without Chase, Boyd will likely see an increase in targets, significantly raising his fantasy value right away in Week 8.
DJ Moore - Carolina Panthers vs.Atlanta Falcons
The Carolina Panthers have entered a complete rebuild seven weeks into the 2022 NFL season. They fired head coach Matt Rhule and traded away superstar running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers. DJ Moore recorded his best game of the season in Week 7, his first without McCaffrey dominating the touches.
Moore finished as the WR9 in PPR points last week, placing him better than 30th for the first time this year. He gets an ideal situation for another big performance against the Atlanta Falcons. They will be without their top two cornerbacks this week.
Brandon Aiyuk - San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
In recent weeks, Brandon Aiyuk has earned a more prominent role in the San Francisco 49ers offense. He has been targeted 11 times in each of his last two games, finishing as WR4 and WR18 in PPR points, respectively.
Aiyuk should have another opportunity for a big day against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. Top wide receiver Deebo Samuel will likely draw the majority of coverage from Jalen Ramsey. This may cause Jimmy Garoppolo to look at Aiyuk more often than usual.
Week 8 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers: Sit 'Em
Rondale Moore - Arizona Cardinals vs. Minnesota Vikings
Rondale Moore was a popular Fantasy Football target last week. Many believed he would be highly involved in the Cardinals' offensive plans following an injury to Marquise Brown. That's not how things turned out.
DeAndre Hopkins appeared in his first game of the season and dominated the target share for wide receivers. He hooked up with Kyler Murray for ten receptions on 14 targets. Moore was targeted just twice and should be avoided while finding a new role next to Hopkins.
Romeo Doubs - Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
Romeo Doubs has been trending in the wrong direction in recent weeks. He has combined to record just seven receptions for 50 yards and zero touchdowns over the last three weeks. Aaron Rodgers has targeted him 18 times over that span, but it hasn't resulted in much production.
Week 8 is not a good situation for Doubs to get back on track in Fantasy Football. The Buffalo Bills have ranked in the top five in passing yards allowed per game in four of the last five seasons.
Hunter Renfrow - Las Vegas Raiders vs. New Orleans Saints
Hunter Renfrow broke out in a big way in Fantasy Football leagues last season, especially with PPR scoring. The Las vegas Raiders then acquired Davante Adams during the 2022 NFL offseason and Renfrow's production has suffered severely.
Renfrow has exceeded four receptions in just one game so far this season. He has also failed to reach 60 yards in any game and has yet to score a single touchdown. Not only can he be avoided in Week 8, but he can be safely dropped in most Fantasy Football leagues at this point.
