After months of speculation, the MVP of the 2022 NFL season has been decided. However, fans are more interested in either who finished near the top or who didn't receive a vote. In response to the final vote tally, fans tore into the final results. Some slammed the lack of interest in Joe Burrow while others declared Josh Allen the rightful Most Valuable Player.

Others scoffed at the idea of him being included at all. Here's a look at the variety of problems fans have with this year's MVP election:

Based on the final tally, pundits claimed that the final results were not close. Patrick Mahomes is this year's MVP by a nearly unanimous margin. Mahomes secured 48 votes while Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received one. Josh Allen also received a vote.

It was the Chiefs quarterback's second MVP. Most agreed that the team had one of the worst offseasons in the league. Their leading receiver Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins and the team faced a complete rebuild on offense. Hill was out and Juju Smith Schuster, Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling were inserted into the lineup instead.

Even without his top receiver, the quarterback managed to throw for the second-most touchdowns of his career with 41. It was also the highest completion percentage of his career at 67.1 percent. Additionally, the team is on the rebound after hitting a downward trend since winning the Super Bowl in 2019.

Heading into the season, the team won the Super Bowl in 2019, lost the Super Bowl in 2020, and lost the AFC Championship game in 2021. When teams hit a slump multiple years in a row in the NFL, it is almost impossible to reverse the trend without a big dip first.

Instead, the team bottomed out with an AFC Championship loss, which has served as a low point for the quarterback in his career since taking over for Alex Smith in 2018. In other words, every year that the quarterback served as the starter, the team has reached at least the Championship round.

Will Mahomes be able to keep the streak going into 2023? Once again, the AFC West is reloading with the hopes of knocking the quarterback down a peg. The Broncos traded for Sean Payton and the Chargers managed to snag Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator behind the Dallas Cowboys' fourth-ranked offense in terms of points per game.
