Did Randy Moss win a Super Bowl? Exploring legendary Patriots WR's NFL career

In NFL circles, Randy Moss needs no introduction. The Hall of Famer is a legend of the game and broke records everywhere he went.

Moss is an undisputed superstar. He was so special that even a move was named after him. Here's a closer look at Randy Moss' legendary NFL career and whether or not he won a Super Bowl.

Did superstar wide receiver Randy Moss win a Super Bowl?

No, Randy Moss did not win a Super Bowl across his 14 seasons in the league. The wide receiver came close but ultimately fell short of the career-defining achievement.

Moss reached his first Super Bowl as a member of the New England Patriots in their historic 2007 season where they went 16-0. It was his first season in New England, and the stars had aligned for the perennial Pro Bowler.

However, Eli Manning and the New York Giants had other plans, as they stunned the Patriots with a game-winning touchdown from Plaxico Burress. However, this wasn't the last time Moss would play in a Super Bowl.

Randy Moss had another chance to win a Super Bowl

Moss announced his first retirement from the NFL via his agent, Joel Segal, on Aug. 1, 2011. However, less than a year later, he changed his mind and declared his intention to rejoin the league after his 35th birthday.

The then Jim Harbaugh-coached San Francisco 49ers sensed an opportunity to buffer their offense and signed Moss to a one-year deal on March 12, 2012. Moss did a decent job, especially considering that he was out of the league for some time. He ended his sole regular season in San Francisco with a stat line of 28 catches, 434 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in 16 games.

Moss helped the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII, where they were up against the Baltimore Ravens. Unfortunately for Moss, he only had a mere two catches for 41 receiving yards on the night, and the 49ers lost 34-31 to the Ravens.

He subsequently announced his second and final retirement from the National Football League soon after. Moss is viewed by many as the greatest pass catcher to never win a Super Bowl in his NFL career.
