Darren Waller Week 14 injury update and fantasy outlook explored

Miami Dolphins v Las Vegas Raiders
Darren Waller has been out since the Week 5 game vs Chiefs

Darren Waller is an American football player who plays the tight end position for the Las Vegas Raiders. Waller started the season on a solid pace until he was injured in the Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Unfortunately, he sustained a serious hamstring injury in that game and was forced off the field. Later, he was ruled out from several upcoming fixtures. Thankfully, the Raiders' medical team has announced that Waller might be available for the Week 14 crunch matchup against the New England Patriots.

Waller's injury has affected the Raiders, as the team has been forced to rely solely on new signing Davante Adams for passing touchdowns. Derek Carr has always had a connection with Waller, so it must have been difficult for the Fresno State alum to manage without him for almost 10 weeks.

Darren Waller Fantasy Outlook

Darren Waller has always been a handy fantasy option at tight ends, thanks to his unique skill set. He has always been a top-notch receiver, a handy blocker, and pretty decent at running routes. The season started impressively as he was in the top 20 of fantasy tight ends until he sustained his almost season-ending injury.

Waller could return from the injured reserve next week. But the Las Vegas Raiders coaching staff is still determining if the short window will have him ready for that game. He is likelier to make his season return in the matchup against the New England Patriots.

How is Darren Waller playing this season?

Darren Waller started off the 2022 NFL season as the clear TE1 of NFL playoff hopefuls, the Las Vegas Raiders. He had a decent first five games, right before he got a hamstring injury that ruled him out for months. This has thus affected both the player and the team.

Waller has put up a stat line of 16 receptions, 175 receiving yards, and one touchdown in five games played thus far this season.
