Courtland Sutton, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos are in New Orleans for Thursday Night Football this week. The showdown is set to be a nostalgia-soaked event as Payton returns to the place he spent more than 15 seasons coaching. Drew Brees will also be in the building, setting the stage for a reunion of sorts.

However, aside from the warm fuzzy feelings the game may present for Saints fans, there is a 60-minute contest serving as the main course. Here's a look at the contest.

The Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints contest will be a battle of rookies. On one side, the Broncos will have Bo Nix, who has played up and down to start his career. On the other side, Spencer Rattler will play his second career NFL game. Both rookies are getting their first primetime game of the season, so expect plenty of mistakes.

The Denver Broncos have perhaps one of the best defenses in the league this season under Vance Joseph. However, they will be without Patrick Surtain II, their top cornerback. This sets the stage for an easier time for Spencer Rattler. However, Chris Olave is out this week as well, so both teams end up roughly even heading into the contest.

Still, trust the Broncos defense to rattle Rattler in the end, but expect some big plays from both teams. The Broncos win 24-20.

Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are both expected to be out. With a rookie playing and their top two receivers out, the only remaining strategy is to feed Alvin Kamara, who has looked dominant at times this season. Aside from that, a dark-horse flex could be wide receiver Mason Tipton, who was the third-string wide receiver when the team was fully healthy.

For the Broncos, Courtland Sutton is the most obvious play, but Marshon Lattimore has been playing impressively coming into the game. As such, Troy Franklin and Devaughn Vele could be sneaky good instead of Courtland Sutton. Bo Nix also could be a decent option in the contest, as he has earned at least 15 points in the majority of his games.
