Brian Robinson Jr. injury update: Commanders HC drops latest on RB's status ahead of Week 7

Brian Robinson Jr. is the RB1 on one of the surprise packages of the 2024 NFL season. The Washington Commanders running back failed to practice last week before he was ruled out for Washington's defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

Ahead of the Commanders' Week 7 showdown against the Carolina Panthers, let's take a look at Robinson Jr.'s availability.

Brian Robinson Jr.'s injury update

According to Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, Brian Robinson Jr. will practice on Wednesday. The pacey runner looks to have recovered significantly from the knee injury that kept him out of his side's loss to AFC powerhouse the Baltimore Ravens.

Now, the third-year running back will be tasked with working his way back to fitness ahead of his side's game against the Panthers. This should reduce Austin Ekeler's load and give the veteran more opportunities as a pass catcher on Quinn's offense.

Hence, Robinson Jr.'s fantasy managers do not have to be concerned. The Commanders RB1 should be back in action for Week 7, barring any major setbacks during Thursday and Friday's training sessions. Though it won't hurt to have a waiver wire pickup caliber player on the bench.

How has Brian Robinson Jr. performed in 2024?

Brian Robinson Jr. is having a great start to the 2024 NFL season. The Alabama Crimson Tide product has amassed a stat line of 73 carries, 325 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has recorded at least a touchdown in every game this season except his side's Week 2 win against the New York Giants, and he still contributed 133 rushing yards to the victory.

The Washington Commanders' offense looked different in their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels was the team's highest rusher, and they lost by seven points.

The Commanders faithful will hope that Robinson Jr. can play in Week 7 when they take on the Carolina Panthers.
