When players suffer a down year in fantasy football, it can be for a variety of reasons. A decreased role with their team or injury complications are often among the most common. Targeting these players in fantasy drafts can be a decent strategy if they show signs of being in line for a bounce-back year.

Several wide receivers potentially classify for this situation, based on a new year bringing new opportunities. A different supporting cast or a theoretically healthier season can lead to them getting back on track. Here are five receivers who could be worth acquiring at a discounted price in 2024 fantasy football.

WR bounce-back candidates in 2024 fantasy football

#1 - Drake London

Drake London saw his overall fantasy football ranking drop last season, due to fewer receptions and touchdowns than he had in the year before. This was partly due to the Atlanta Falcons having one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL. They addressed this by adding Kirk Cousins, so London could be in line for a career year in 2024.

#2 - Tee Higgins

Tee Higgins is in a complicated situation with the Cincinnati Bengals after not getting the long-term contract he wanted. He has already reported to mini-camps, so it appears that he will play through it anyway.

Regardless of whether he remains with the Bengals or is traded, he is likely to do better than his WR45 finish in fantasy football last season. He finished as the overall WR17 in each of his two years prior.

#3 - Christian Kirk

Christian Kirk exploded for an impressive WR11 finish two seasons ago in his first year with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He followed that up with a disappointing WR24 finish in fantasy football last year, partially due to the addition of Calvin Ridley. With Ridley departing during the offseason, Kirk will likely see a much larger workload this season and is a prime candidate for a bounce-back season.

#4 - Marquise Brown

Marquise Brown finished as a career-worst WR52 last season with the Arizona Cardinals. This can be partially explained by playing in one of the worst offenses in the NFL and with a backup quarterback for most of the year.

His situation is much improved this season after moving to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he will have the luxury of playing with the best quarterback in the NFL and one of the most high-powered passing attacks.

#5 - Christian Watson

Injuries were a major problem for Christian Watson last season, as he missed eight games for the Green Bay Packers. He still managed to score five touchdowns on more than 15 yards per reception, so he clearly has elite upside. Watson finished as the WR25 in fantasy football in his rookie season two years ago, so he clearly has the potential to bounce back, if he can remain healthy.
