The Green Bay Packers are a strong, competitive, and historically significant team off the field. They have also excelled on the field, winning four Super Bowls and nine NFL Championships before the Super Bowl era, which brings their league titles to 13 overall—the most in NFL history.

It takes happy players to sustain this kind of performance over an extended period, and Green Bay is a team that excels at keeping players happy. We shall therefore highlight the top five earners in the franchise's history in this article.

The five highest-paid players in Green Bay Packers' history

5) Kenny Clark, Defensive Tackle - $70,327,719

The Packers selected Kenny Clark with the 27th overall choice in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he has led the team's defense ever since. The Packers gave Clark a four-year, $70 million extension in 2020, making him the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history at the time.

Since Clark is about to start the final year of his current contract in 2024, another significant contract extension may be imminent given the recent explosion in the market for NFL defensive linemen.

4) Clay Matthews, Linebacker - $78,005,252

At some point during his ten-year stint with the Green Bay Packers, Clay Matthews was considered one of the league's top pass rushers.

The Packers extended Matthew's contract for a record-breaking $66 million over five years in 2013. The player made a total of $78 million over his ten years with the Packers.

The renowned quarterback led the NFL in passing touchdowns, passing yards, and quarterback wins at the time of his retirement.

Favre's compensation for his 16 seasons in Green Bay was an astounding $101.1 million. He guided the team to eleven postseason trips, seven division crowns, four NFC Championship Games, two back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl victory during that time.

David Bakhtiari has recently left the Green Bay Packers after 11 outstanding seasons. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was a two-time first team All-Pro before knee injury problems marred his final three seasons in Green Bay.

The Packers picked Bakhtiari with the 109th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2013 draft. Bakhtiari became the highest-paid offensive tackle in NFL history in November 2020 after agreeing to a four-year, $105.5 million contract deal.
