Dynasty QB buys before 2024 Fantasy Football

Each Dynasty Fantasy Football season includes brand-new values for all quarterback options. Their outlooks entering a specific year depend on many variables, including past performances and roster changes that could impact their production. This can often create opportunities for managers to capitalize on players they may believe are undervalued.

The best way to make roster changes in Dynasty offseasons is through the trade market. This unique format requires managers to keep the same relative roster across multiple years rather than picking a new one each season, as in re-draft leagues.

With the 2024 NFL season approaching, here are three quarterbacks that make for intriguing buy-low trade targets.

#1 - Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray has quietly been one of the most consistently productive fantasy football quarterbacks during his career so far. He has ranked among the top ten players in position in fantasy points per game in each of his seasons as a starter for the Arizona Cardinals so far. This includes finishing as the overall QB3 in total fantasy points during his career-best 2020 season.

His elite rushing contributions are one of the reasons why he has exceeded 400 yards every year in at least ten games. His expectations for the upcoming 2024 season appear to be down with the Cardinals rebuilding, but with Marvin Harrison Jr. now on the team, Murray could have another solid year. He is an ideal buy-low candidate with massive potential upside.

#2 - Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence has been highly inconsistent during his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars so far. His rookie season was disastrous, but then he followed it up by finishing among the top-five quarterbacks in fantasy football in year two. He was extremely hyped for his third season because of that, but he failed to meet expectations.

Many managers may want to give up on Lawrence after disappointing results in two of his three seasons, which creates an opportunity to buy low on him in the trade market. He already demonstrated his elite ceiling in 2022, so if he can get back on track, he could be an absolute steal in fantasy football this year.

#3 - Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson flashed his potential to be among the best fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL during his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts last year. In just four starts, he twice finished among the top four weekly quarterbacks in total fantasy points scored.

The issue with Richardson that could cause some concern for many fantasy managers is that he suffered two injuries last season that forced him to miss 13 total games. He is risky to trust in fantasy leagues, but his massive upside makes him worth the gamble in the trade market.
