Who won the NASCAR race today?

Driving the #47 Chevrolet for JTG Daugherty Racing, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., a non-playoff driver, secured his first win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season in a thrilling three-wide photo finish at Talladega.

Stenhouse Jr., who failed to qualify for this year’s playoffs, held off the field in overtime and beat Brad Keselowski and William Byron to the finish line in yet another photo finish of the season. The #47 driver crossed the finish line by a close margin of 0.006 seconds ahead of Keselowski to take the checkered flag. This is the third close finish of the 2024 season.

In a race that saw a 28-car crash with five laps to go, Stenhouse Jr. led 19 of the 195 laps, including the all-important last one after a neck-to-neck battle with Keselowski and Byron. The win marked his first since winning last year’s Daytona 500, second at Talladega, and the fourth of his Cup Series career.

Meanwhile, Brad Keselowski finished runner-up, followed by William Byron, Kyle Larson, and Erik Jones in the top five. Christopher Bell, Justin Haley, Austin Dillon, Bubba Wallace, and Denny Hamlin completed the top 10 in the YellaWood 500.
