After the controversial final lap move, Austin Dillon has registered his first Cup Series win since the Daytona International Speedway in 2022. The Richard Childress Racing driver wrecked out Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin as he paved the way to victory lane.

Dillon was the sixth fastest driver during the qualifying, claimed a seventh-place finish in Stage 1, and climbed to fifth place in the second stage. But during the final stage's lap 324, the RCR driver began closing in on the then frontrunner, Hamlin, and overtook the latter 11 laps later. From that point, the #3 Chevy was largely at the front.

Despite leading the overtime restart, Dillon couldn't hold his spot and Joey Logano snatched the first place, taking the white flag as the leader. However, as the race neared its end and the pack inched closer to the start/finish line, a big run-in by the RCR driver destroyed the Team Penske driver's potential victory. On the other hand, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver survived the wreck and secured the runner-up spot.

Logano and Hamlin spun out on turn 4 and slammed into the outside wall, as Dillon first bumped into the #22 Ford and then went for the #11 Toyota.

With the Cook Out 400 win, Kyle Busch's teammate has punched his ticket into the 2024 playoffs.

"It's a bunch of BS"- Joey Logano slams Austin Dillon for robbing him of his second Cup Series win this season

Joey Logano was enraged by Austin Dillon's final lap wreck and slammed him for his "ridiculous" racing on the 0.750-mile oval. The Team Penske driver started his 408-lap dash from ninth place and saw his second Cup Series win approaching until the RCR driver's wreck turned the tables around.

Throughout the race, Logano kept himself among the frontrunners. He registered a fourth-place finish in both stages and was in a comfortable position to post a win as he led the final lap. But he ended in 19th place.

"Chickenshit, there's no doubt about it. He's 4 car lengths back. Then he wrecked the 11. And then he goes up there and thanks God with his baby. It's a bunch of BS .. It's ridiculous that that's the way we race. I get bump and run, I do that .. what a piece of crap," angry Logano said via PRN Live on X.

After a lackluster start to the season, the #22 Ford driver picked up momentum and sealed the million-dollar win at the All-Star Race. Since then, the Connecticut native has witnessed a surge in his performance with the Nashville win, three top-5s, and four top-10s.

However, his previous outing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ended with a DNF and the Richmond win would've redeemed his fateful Brickyard weekend.

So far, no penalty has been announced for Austin Dillon's move and it will be interesting to see if the officials deem him the winner or Denny Hamlin, who finished second.
