During the 2017 Cup Series campaign, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch's wife Samantha said she used her influence on social media to paint a slightly different picture of her husband by providing his fans with insight into their personal lives. Samantha is a social media influencer with over 200k followers on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

The Athletic's Jeff Gluck held regular "Social Spotlight" Q&A sessions with notable personalities in NASCAR. In his session with Samantha, Gluck asked her whether she assumed the role of a spokesperson for her husband, and provided insight into his life to his fans while the two-time Cup Series champion was busy winning races. She responded (via jeffgluck.com):

"I love it, I think that’s a good way to think about it. Yeah, I just want people to see the side of Kyle Busch that I get to see, the kind of fun, the loving, the caring, the daddy side. I think people see him for a split second whether it’s during the anthem or after the race with an interview and that’s not exactly who he really is."
"That’s him in race mode and that’s his job, but what I like to show is the softer side. You know, him teaching Brex how to drive or them playing at the park and things like that that people might not get to see. Obviously, I like social media a whole lot more than he does so I think it’s nice to be able to give fans that access."

Here is one of many posts on Samantha's social media, where she updates Busch's fans on a pit stop during a race.

Kyle Busch pilots the #8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing, competing full-time in the Cup Series. In his NASCAR career, he has secured 231 race victories across NASCAR's top three divisions, with 63 coming in the Cup Series. Moreover, the 39-year-old is a two-time Cup Series champion. He also has an Xfinity Series title. Amid his celebrated career, Busch failed to secure his seat in the 2024 playoffs after 11 years.

Kyle and Samantha have been married for nearly 14 years. They dated for two years before tying the knot on December 31, 2010. The couple welcomed their son, Brexton Locke, in 2015, and in 2022 celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Lennix Key Busch.

"I'm not putting her on the radio": Kyle Busch responds to a fan's query about his wife spotting for him in a race

Kyle Busch had a playful response to a fan's query about his wife Samantha assuming the role of a spotter for him during a NASCAR race in a recent post on Richard Childress Racing's Instagram:

"No, she's never spotted for me. She's only been on the radio a few times when Brexton's been racing."
"When we're on the road though, like driving down the highway or whatever and I'm in my Chevy Tahoe going here to there, if there's like a weird angled stop sign and I can't see, I'll have her tell me like, 'Hey, am I clear? Am I not clear?'" Kyle Busch added. "So she'll tell me in those aspects [...] I'm not putting her on the radio though."

Samantha then playfully responded to her husband's comments saying that her sense of direction is questionable and she would probably be "back seat driving him the whole time."
