Joey Logano wasn't happy with how a push from Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon prevented him from potentially bagging his second Cup Series victory this season. As he entered the pit road after the race was over, Logano expressed his anger by rolling his tires hard against the brake. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were left divided about how Logano chose to vent.

Joey Logano drives the No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Team Penske. He is a two-time Cup Series champion and a 30-time winner in the Cup Series. Logano also has 30 wins in the Xfinity Series and two in the Truck Series. This year, he won the Cup race at Nashville Superspeedway in June and booked a spot in the playoffs.

After missing out on a victory last Sunday and finishing 19th, Logano throttled his engine as hard as he could while driving down the congested pit road.

Several fans reacted to Joey Logano's outburst, with one saying that it should incur a $50,000 fine.

"welp that’s a $50k penalty...," the fan said.

Another fan said that what Joey Logano did was not okay, but also opined that people should not be allowed on a 'hot pit road.'

"People, let alone women and babies shouldn’t be allowed on pit road. This is absolutely dumb. It’s not ok what Lagano did but it’s also dumb that people are allowed on a hot pit road," the fan commented.

Here are a few other reactions to Joey Logano's behavior on pit road:

"No but once again, WHY ARE THERE KIDS ON A HOT PIT ROAD ????" a fan wrote.
"It isn't okay, but families shouldn't be on a hot pit road to begin with. They need to stop that immediately and make drivers go back to victory lane," another said.
"22 fan. No, not acceptable. I understand it was heat of the moment, but this is $50,000 and an ass chewing," someone added.

Joey Logano currently sits 15th in the Cup Series standings, with 557 points to his credit. He has led a combined 230 laps this season besides four top 5s and seven top 10s.

NASCAR VP opens up on Joey Logano's pit road actions

While it is probably true that so many non-race personnel should not have been allowed on the pit road, Logano's burnout could have endangered lives. Thankfully, nothing of that sort happened. The video shows Logano pressing the brakes inches away from a group of people next to Austin Dillon's pit box, which included his wife and daughter Blaize.

When asked by journalist Bob Pockrass if Joey Logano's actions could get him a penalty, Elton Sawyer, NASCAR's Vice President of Competition, said:

"We don't want to make a split-second decision and get it wrong. So we want to make sure we go back and we'll look at everything that happened on the last lap and post-race and see if any penalties need to be issued."

Austin Dillon wasn't happy with Joey Logano either. According to the Richard Childress Racing driver, Logano should have spoken to the media or taken it up with him if he was so angry.

"I get it you've got to be mad and upset," Dillon said during a recent episode of Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour Podcast (as reported by FOX). "But do it in, like, an interview or talk to me about it. You've got to be careful on pit road with that type of stuff."

Nevertheless, both racers must now gear up for next week's race at Michigan International Speedway. Watch the event live on NBC Sports and the USA Network on August 18, 2:30 PM ET onwards.
