Only a day remains until the kick-off of the 40th running NASCAR All-Star Race. The event will be held this Sunday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the season’s second exhibition race.

The All-Star Race will be contested on the 0.625-mile-long track. 20 drivers will compete for over 200 laps on Sunday to secure a chance at driving down Victory Lane.

In Saturday’s All-Star qualifying session, Team Penske driver Joey Logano won the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro, as he was the fastest on the track with an average lap speed of 75.206 mph and a time of 89.754 seconds.

Lagano will also start on the pole for Heat Race 1. Brad Keselowski, who qualified second, will start on the pole for Heat Race 2.

Qualifying also included a four-tire pit stop. Christopher Bell’s #20 Joe Gibbs Racing team won the pit crew challenge after recording the fastest four-tire pit stop, with a stop of 13.223 seconds. The team won the $100,000 bonus as a part of the NASCAR All-Star weekend.

According to the All-Star qualifying rules, only Logano has secured his spot in the race. The rest of the grid will be determined by Saturday evening’s 60-lap heat races at North Wilkesboro.

The 17-driver All-Star Race field split into two for a pair of 60-lap heat races to set the starting lineup for Sunday’s event, which pays $1 million to the winner. The results of Heat 1 will determine the inside row, while Heat 2 will set the outside row for the All-Star Race.
