Cup Series stars Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin took some time to unwind ahead of the Round of 8 of the playoffs. The two were spotted in Cabo at a friend's wedding.

Katelyn Larson, wife of the 2021 Cup Series champion, took to her personal Instagram handle to share photos from the occasion. In a joint post with her husband, the couple is pictured with Hamlin and his fiancée, Jordan Fish. The two couples are also seen with four-time Cup Series winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his wife, Madyson.

In the post, Larson wrote:

"Enjoyed some R&R in between the chaos. Congrats to the newlyweds @joshpeterman @lindseyymc it was the most perfect and beautiful day. ❤️ We love you guys!"

The post comes in between rounds of the Cup Series playoffs, or the "chaos," as Katelyn alluded to. Larson wheeled his #5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet to victory in last Sunday's Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte Roval to clinch a spot in the Round of 8. Hamlin earned a spot in the next round as well.

Stenhouse Jr.'s wife took to her Instagram to share photos from Cabo as well, writing:

"Cabo is never a bad time! Especially when celebrating love! @lindseyymc & @joshpeterman ❤️ So honored to be there for your big day."

Her husband found success on the racetrack recently, too, as the Mississippi native earned the win at Talladega Superspeedway two weeks ago, despite missing the playoffs. It marked the first win for the driver of the #47 JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet since the 2023 Daytona 500.

Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin's on-track rivalry

The two drivers might've been living it up in Cabo this past week, but it hasn't been all peaches and cream between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson on the racetrack. The two drivers, who combine for 83 Cup Series victories, have had a few run-ins dating back to Kansas last season.

On the last lap of last year's AdventHealth 400 at Kansas, Hamlin's #11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota nudged his way by Larson's #5 HendrickCars.com machine for first place and the victory. Larson managed to finish a second after nearly spinning out.

Later that year, the two tangled in the closing laps of the HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono Raceway, which saw Hamlin win after fierce contact with Larson while racing for the lead. After the race, the latter expressed his displeasure with the former, saying:

"Denny's always right."

This season, Larson holds the season-high in wins with six and leads the points standings ahead of the Round of 8. The California native is seeking his second Cup championship. Hamlin, meanwhile, has three victories this year and is searching for his first Cup title in his 19th season.
