NASCAR Cup Series driver Joey Logano was witnessed expressing his frustration on pit road after RCR's Austin Dillon decided the fate of his race. Fox Sports journalist Bob Pockrass recently hinted at the possibility of a penalty to Logano for his aggression on pit road following NASCAR VP Elton Sawyer's views on the subject.
Logano pilots the #22 Ford for Team Penske. The two-time Cup Series champion started the Cook Out 400 in P9 and eventually led the field. As the race went into overtime, Dillon bumped the rear of the #22 Ford and sent the car into the safety barriers right before the finish line.
Logano was then seen expressing his dissatisfaction with how things panned out and drove recklessly on the pit road after the race ended while people were trying to cross over to the other side. Logano was heard revving his engine which alerted a NASCAR official who then stopped him from moving ahead.

In a recent interview with Bob Pockrass, NASCAR VP of Competition Elton Sawyer was asked for his thoughts on this incident. Sawyer responded:
"We don't want to make a split-second decision and get it wrong. So we want to make sure we go back and we'll look at everything that happened on the last lap and post-race and see if any penalties need to be issued."
Pockrass predicted a possible penalty for Logano on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote:
"Would expect a fine to Logano for pit road smoking tires by people. As posted Sunday, Elton Sawyer said they would look at it"

Bubba Wallace's spotter Freddie Kraft criticized Logano's reckless driving on the pit road at the end of the Cook Out 400. Logano was poised to win at Richmond Raceway before Austin Dillon bumped the rear of the Team Penske driver's car.
Kraft highlighted the incident on pit road on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote:
"Move Victory Lane back where it belongs and that many people won’t be trying to cross pit road. But it’s still no excuse for what happened. Cannot be that reckless."
Joey Logano crossed the finish line in a disappointing P19 while Dillon clinched his fifth overall Cup race victory and secured a seat in the Playoffs.
