RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski recently reminisced his father Bob and uncle Ron working on a blown engine at Talladega in a picture from 1970. His grandfather could also be seen supervising the two young men.

The #6 Ford driver comes from a family with a racing history. His father Bob Keselowski actively raced in the Truck Series between 1995 and 1999. While he never raced in the Cup Series in a full-time role, he had the opportunity to run a Ford in 1994 at Pocono.

However, Bob's race came to an early end after suffering an engine failure on Lap 17 of 200. He also participated in multiple ARCA races, winning the championship once and finishing as a runner-up multiple times.

Meanwhile, Brad's uncle Ron took part in several Cup Series races in the 70s. During one such race in 1970 at Talladega, the latter suffered an engine issue.

The picture that Brad Keselowski shared on X clearly shows the two men trying to work on the blown-out engine while their father watches. He called it one of his favorite family photos.

"One of my favorite family photos of my dad, uncle and grandfather at Talladega. I believe the year was 1970… My uncle Ron was racing with his team K-Automotive. A family affair rebuilding a blown engine. Cool to look back on!" Brad Keselowski wrote in the caption.

Brad Keselowski, carrying the genes from his father and uncle, presents himself as a competitive driver. He won the Cup Series championship in the 2012 season and is currently chasing his second. However, his 2024 contention came to an early end at Bristol.

Brad Keselowski hoping for a comeback next season

After a seemingly difficult start to the season, Keselowski won the race at Darlington to lock himself up in the playoffs. He also delivered multiple top-5 and top-10 finishes throughout the Regular Season, keeping in touch with his rivals as he chased down his second championship run.

However, a tough race at Watkins Glen followed by another difficult stint at Bristol put him out of contention for the championship run. He finished both races in 26th place.

After the race, the 40-year-old shared an emotionally motivating post on social media, clarifying his goals. He wrote on Instagram:

"Although I’m disappointed in our championship run, every challenge is an opportunity to come back stronger. Still hungry for another win this season... The journey isn’t over yet. #6NeverQuits"

Brad Keselowski is in his third season with RFK Racing. The first two seasons did not yield any victories, though he embarked on quite a journey in 2023. This year, he won his first race with the team but as mentioned earlier, the two races at the Glen and Bristol have been tough endeavors. Following them was the Kansas race, where he once again finished out of the top 20.
