Former Aston Martin chief communications officer Matt Bishop reacted to a heartwarming comment by David Schumacher on his father, Ralf Schumacher's, coming out post on Instagram. The former F1 driver recently came out in public to reveal that he is gay by posting a picture of him with his partner.
Ralf Schumacher has been in the world of motorsport for quite some time now. He started his F1 career in 1997 and raced for several teams like Jordan, Williams, and Toyota. Though he retired from the sport in 2007, he kept his toes dipped in it and took up motorsport journalism.
In a recent Instagram post, the six-time F1 race winner posed with his male partner, stating that having the right partner the best feeling in the world. Ralf's son David Schumacher commented on the post and showed support for his father. The youngster added that he was very happy for his father and would stand behind him no matter what.
"I am very happy that you have finally found someone with whom you really feel that you feel very comfortable and secure, no matter if you are a man or a woman, I am 100% behind you dad and wish you all the best and congratulations," David commented.
Later on, Matt Bishop, who is also an ambassador for the Racing Pride community, reacted to David Schumacher's comment on Ralf Schumacher's coming out post. Bishop reposted the comment on his official X account and stated that David's message made him well up in happiness.
"This is impossible to read with dry eyes: it’s an Instagram post by David Schumacher, whose 6-time #F1 GP winner dad Ralf Schumacher came out as a gay man on Instagram at the weekend. Coming out is never easy, but Ralf has been very brave & David’s reaction is very lovely," Bishop wrote.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher announced that he is gay by posting a picture with his male partner on his official Instagram on July 14. The picture was taken on a party yacht and both had their backs to the camera and were enjoying a sunset.
The comment section of the picture was filled with wholesome comments from the motorsport community, with many congratulating Schumacher for coming out of the closet.
The caption given by the six-time F1 race winner was in German, which translates to:
"The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything," Ralf Schumacher wrote.
Schumacher's partner's name is Etienne, who also reposted the picture on his own Instagram stories with a heart GIF, revealing his relationship with the former F1 driver. He also reposted congratulatory posts from other close ones.
