When Tyson Fury referred to Anthony Joshua as a "failure and a letdown" to the UK in fiery rant: "I think he's a sh*thouse"

Anthony Joshua was once the target of vicious criticism from none other than heavyweight rival Tyson Fury. In late 2022, 'The Gypsy King' took part in an interview with iFL TV, during which he criticized Joshua as a representative of the United Kingdom.

The two men have long been heralded as England's finest boxers of the current generation. Unfortunately, Joshua has not been without his lapses and losses, which led Fury to describe him in less-than-flattering terms. While addressing a potential matchup with Joshua, Fury embarked on a rant.

"I'll say, make it happen. It's not about financial things. Make it happen. However, they don't, so. One, I think that he's [Anthony Joshua] a sh*thouse, and I'll say it to his face. Two, he's got no courage to fight me. And three, he's a failure and a letdown to his country."

The two men have been linked to a boxing match for quite some time now. They were the heavyweight division's most dominant fighters at one point, with both men on undefeated runs. Unfortunately, they've since suffered defeats. 'AJ' was on the receiving end of a historic upset against Andy Ruiz Jr., who TKO'd him.

While he rebounded with a dominant win over Ruiz to recapture his belts, the damage to his reputation was done. Things only worsened after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, who is also responsible for handing 'The Gypsy King' his first-ever professional defeat to establish himself as the heavyweight king.

A matchup between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is in the works

In a recent video uploaded to Saudi minister Turki Alalshikh's X/Twitter page, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury conversed on a FaceTime call. The pair spoke about a heavyweight bout, while Alalshikh urged Fury to 'get the job done' as in beating Oleksandr Usyk in their upcoming rematch to set up the fight.

Joshua, however, was quick to interject that regardless of the outcome of the Usyk-Fury bout, he is willing to face 'The Gypsy King'.

"Either way, either way. I'm waiting for you."

For now, though, both men must get past their scheduled opponents. Fury aims to redeem himself by beating Usyk, while Joshua will challenge Daniel Dubois for IBF heavyweight gold.
