UFC world reacts to attempt on Donald Trump's life

During a nationally televised live election rally on Saturday, July 13, the former United States President Donald Trump became a target of an alleged assassination attempt. Seconds after loud noises of gunshots were heard reverberating across the gathering in Butler, Pennsylvania, Secret Service agents were seen swarming Trump and ducking behind the podium.

The ex-president was rushed off stage as blood visibly oozed out of his right ear. The incident left one spectator dead and two in serious condition, as per reports by multiple outlets. According to a spokesperson who spoke with ABC, Trump is doing "fine" after being taken to the hospital.

Numerous UFC fighters and MMA stars reacted to the incident within minutes of the news breaking online.

Conor McGregor tweeted:

"A 78-year-old multiple billionaire - he should be on a yacht on the med touring golf courses. But he is not. He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! Godspeed Donald! God bless the United States."

UFC CEO Dana White, who is a close friend of Trump, wrote a lengthy message on Instagram:

"I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock. I still don’t know how bad it is or if he’s ok... This image perfectly reflects EXACTLY the man I know Donald Trump to be. He is the toughest, most resilient, AMERICAN BAD A** on this planet."

Colby Covington, a known Trump supporter who calls himself the former president's favorite fighter, said:

"President Trump is the toughest man on the face of this earth. God bless him and his family right now."

Jake Paul alleged that Trump's security detail must have been "compromised" for this attack to take place, while Andrew Tate said the incident was orchestrated by the same people who tried to get him "canceled."

Rose Namajunas finds UFC Denver weigh-ins "suspicious"

Rose Namajunas expressed misgivings about the authenticity of UFC Denver weigh-ins at the post-fight press conference. After securing a decision win over Tracy Cortez, she told the media that she felt the backstage scale and the official one did not have the same tuning:

"'I do feel like - I don't know who's in charge [of] making sure that the scale that you check your weight on before you get on the official scale - they are supposed to be the same. And they were not the same. So, whoever is in charge of that, I need to talk to because that was very - to me it was very suspicious or something, it didn't feel right.''

Charles Oliveira made a similar allegation about the backstage scale when he missed weight ahead of UFC 274.

She also weighed in on Cortez chopping off her hair to make weight:

"To me, it's just hair. But I do sometimes still have dreams with my long hair. So, I know that it's a big deal. This is fighting, you know? I can't wait for when I'm done fighting so I can focus on being pretty again. Hopefully I still have my good looks."
