"You can't be saying, 'Momma raised a h*e'" - Daniel Cormier finally confronts Joaquin Buckley over recent beef

Joaquin Buckley last entered the octagon when he defeated Nursulton Ruziboev via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 56 in May. Following his most recent bout, 'New Mansa' called out Conor McGregor, which led to him exchanging words with Daniel Cormier.

The two recently cleared the air ahead of the No.11-ranked welterweight's UFC 307 clash with Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson. The former double champion began the conversation by questioning where the two went wrong, leading Buckley to respond:

"From the very start. It was just off that post, off of just what you said... It's okay that you said it was the worst call out of all-time, that's cool, I don't care about that. You said that I called Conor McGregor's mother a bad name and I didn't do that. I can tell you what I said. I said, 'Conor McGregor is a McH** so it's safe to say that his momma raised a h**."

Cormier interjected, claiming:

"That's the problem, though. You can't be saying momma raised a hoe, though. You're talking about this dude's mom still, that's disrespectful. That's the job that she did, Joaquin. You didn't call her [a bad name], I get that, but then that turns into you saying that our mommas raised h**s. Come on, man, we can't do that. We don't do that. Like, we just don't do that."

Cormier noted that even during the peak of his rivalry with Jon Jones, the latter reached out to apologize for claiming he was his father without knowing 'DC's actual father had been murdered.

Joaquin Buckley previously revealed discussion with Daniel Cormier

While Joaquin Buckley and Daniel Cormier were able to clear the air, the former revealed that he thought the conversation would take place off-camera. Speaking at the media day for UFC 307, the No.11-ranked welterweight claimed:

"I just got done talking to 'DC'. That was cool. We were in front of the camera. I thought we were just going to be in the room by ourselves for a bit and just be able to talk like men, but it is what it is. We had a good conversation, a good interview."

Buckley added that he thought the conversation would take place off-camera. He noted that he would rather have had such a conversation as he would have been more comfortable discussing things privately.
