Alexander Volkanovski's 'Old Volk' character has made an unexpected return as the former UFC featherweight champion sits on the sidelines. A clip of the Australian's latest skit has been making the rounds on X/Twitter, in which he advertised his own pasta sauce.

The skit, which was shared by Australia's Sportsbet account, has drawn countless fans, many of whom found Volkanovski's antics amusing. While the Australian legend is no stranger to food-related content, having a cooking series on his YouTube channel called 'Cooking with Volk,' this marks a new step.

Fans applauded Volkanovski's skit, with one praising the former featherweight kingpin for his efforts.

"Lmao these are great."

This sentiment was echoed by another fan.

"Brilliant"

Others, though, wondered why Volkanovski's 'Old Volk' character tends to have thematic connections with Italian culture.

Some even compared his skit favorably to Merab Dvalishvili's skits.

"Better then Merab trying to get people to pronounce his sh*tty name properly."

While Volkanovski is focusing on promoting his pasta sauce, fighting is never far from his mind. UFC 308 is the next pay-per-view the promotion has scheduled, and it will see two of his former opponents, Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway, compete for the featherweight strap.

Volkanovski, who is yet to fight since losing to Topuria, will be eager to fight the winner.

Alexander Volkanovski's 'Old Volk' character was created in response to Ilia Topuria's taunts

Ahead of their UFC 298 featherweight championship bout, Ilia Topuria embarked on a trash-talking campaign that poked fun at Alexander Volkanovski's age, with the Australian now being in his late thirties. In response, Volkanovski debuted the 'Old Volk' character in skits where he exaggerated his own age.

Volkanovski dressed himself like a stereotypical senior citizen and took on the mannerisms of a much older person. He even played the character at the UFC 298 pre-fight press conference.
