Luke Rockhold engaged in a thrilling three-round fight with Paulo Costa at UFC 278 in what would be his last fight under the UFC banner. Rockhold lost the bout via unanimous decision and subsequently announced his retirement in a post-fight octagon interview.

The former UFC middleweight champion went on a profanity-laced rant against UFC management before the bout at UFC 278. According to Rockhold, the company's financial success is not reflected in the meager compensation combatants receive. He demanded a better pay structure and healthcare, which he believes the UFC should provide.

Luke Rockhold has found a new home with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. BKFC president Dave Feldman announced earlier this month that Rockhold will make his debut against Mike Perry at BKFC 41 on April 29, 2023.

Darren Till, who was abruptly released from the UFC recently, claimed to have received a lucrative offer from BKFC. He also expressed his desire to face the winner of the upcoming fight between Rockhold and Perry.

Reacting to Till's callout in a recent interview with InsideFighting, Rockhold stated:

"We can talk for sure. Let's see how it goes. Let's see if he still wants to fight. We'll see whatsup. I have bigger fish to fry."

Rockhold added:

"What has Darren Till really done? He hasn't done too much. I like the kid, but he hasn't done too much in the game from start to finish.... I think I beat Till in any realm of fight."

Darren Till previews upcoming fight between Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry

Luke Rockhold will make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut when he faces Mike Perry in a 185-pound bout that will headline BKFC 41 on April 29 in Denver. The event will be broadcast live on the BKFC.tv pay-per-view.

Perry has previous experience in the format, having competed against the likes of Julian Lane and Michael Page and having won both bouts. While Mike Perry has experience, Luke Rockhold believes he has the power and skills to defeat 'Platinum'.

Darren Till previewed the clash in a recent interview with MMA Junkie, stating:

“Mike’s a dog, but Luke’s big.... Luke’s a big dude. They’re fighting 185, but listen, it’s bare knuckle fighting. Anything can happen. Has Luke still got the chin that he once had? Don’t know, so it’s a good fight. They’re going to lose a lot of brain cells, so I hope they’re getting paid for it.”
