Michael Chandler has so far fought Dan Hooker, Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Tony Ferguson in the UFC. The No.5-ranked lightweight made his UFC debut against Dan Hooker at UFC 257, where he spectacularly knocked 'The Hangman' out in the first round.

In his last outing with the promotion, he threw a front kick at Tony Ferguson that shut the lights out for 'El Cucuy'. He is the only man to have handed such a brutal knockout to the legendary chin of Ferguson.

'Iron' Michael Chandler entered the UFC with a professional record of 21-5. He had an illustrious career in organizations like Strikeforce and Bellator, where he was a multiple-time lightweight champ.

Following his win over Dan Hooker in his promotional debut, Chandler was pit against Charles 'do Bronx' Oliveira at UFC 262 for the vacant lightweight title after 'The Eagle' had flown into retirement. He had a good first round against 'do Bronx', where he dropped the Brazilian, but lost via TKO when Oliveira came out strong in the second round.

Following his loss to Oliveira, Chandler went on to face Justin Gaethje at UFC 268. The bout was an absolute banger from start to finish and earned Fight of the Year honors. However, Chandler lost to Gaethje via unanimous decision in his third outing with the organization.

In his latest fight, Michael Chandler faced former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, at UFC 274. After facing some adversity in the first round, Chandler came out guns blazing and knocked Ferguson out early in the second round. This win earned him a Performance of the Night bonus and elevated him to the No.5-ranked contender spot. Chandler is currently 2-2 in the UFC with an overall MMA record of 23-7.

Michael Chandler faces No.2-ranked Dustin Poirier in a lightweight banger at UFC 281

Michael Chandler will go toe-to-toe with Dustin Poirier on the main card of UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden in New York. There is no love lost between the two lightweights, with the two going back and forth on social media.

'The Diamond' went after 'Iron' Michael Chandler at UFC 276, and the two had to be separated by security at the event, with both fighters shouting at each other.

This fight is a dream matchup for MMA fans as both fighters are certified finishers that never present a boring fight. They have a combined 26 knockouts and 14 submissions in their careers. On paper, this fight shouldn't go to the judges' scorecards.

The fight with Poirier will mark Chandler's fifth appearance in the UFC. The winner of the bout may get a title shot or a chance to compete for the No.1-contender spot.
