When Dana White said there's no bouncing back from hitting a woman

UFC president Dana White recently got into a physical altercation with his wife while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, during New Year’s Eve.

During the incident, which was caught on tape, the 53-year-old can be seen getting slapped in the face by his wife before he fires back a slap of his own. Soon after, others attempt to separate the duo.

Ironically enough, White has always been a critic of violence against women. The 53-year-old was highly critical while responding to a video of NFL star Ray Rice assaulting his wife during a 2014 interview with FOX Sports.

During the interview, White suggested that UFC athletes won't be allowed to fight in the promotion if they engage in such heinous activities. Furthermore, the UFC president was quoted as saying that there was no redemption for men who lay their hands on women:

"There's one thing that you never bounce back from and that's putting your hands on a woman. Been that way in the UFC since we started here. You don't bounce back from putting your hands on a woman." [h/t Daily Mail]

Since the unfortunate incident at the El Squid Roe nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, the UFC president has owned up to his mistake and clarified that there was no excuse for his actions.

What did Dana White say about slapping his wife?

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Dana White addressed the New Year's Eve altercation with his wife. The 53-year-old explained that he was extremely embarrassed by his actions and that there was no excuse for what he had done.

The UFC president added that he and his wife have already apologized to each other and that the only concern the duo now have surrounds how the incident would affect their children:

"You've heard me say for years, there's never ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman and now here I'm on TMZ talking about it... This is one of those situations that's horrible. I'm embarrassed but... right now we are more concerned about our kids. We have three kids and, you know, obviously since the video popped up, we have shown the kids the video... We are more focused on our family right now."

He added:

"My wife and I have apologized to each other, we've apologized to our kids... I could care less about what anybody else thinks about this, right now we are more concerned about our kids and taking care of our family."
