Reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and former bantamweight Muay Thai king 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty says it's not too late for him and Scottish rival 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo to lock horns inside the ONE Championship ring.

The two European strikers have gone back and forth in the media for months, building up to what would have been an explosive showdown between ONE Championship superstars.

However, Haggerty's recent loss to Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver in early September may have temporarily taken some of the lustre from this intriguing matchup.

Speaking to Sky Sports MMA Club podcast in a recent guest appearance, however, Haggerty says it isn't too late and he is more than willing to trade leather with Carrillo.

'The General' stated:

"Just so we can battle it out. All the animosity we’ve been talking, let’s put it behind us and let’s get in the middle of the ring, let’s go!"

Needless to say, fans would jump at the chance to see Haggerty and Carrillo finally settle their beef in the ring.

Jonathan Haggerty wishes Nico Carrillo the best and says there's no bad blood: "I’m not that bitter, if I’m honest"

If Nico Carrillo does move on to face Superlek Kiatmoo9 instead of Jonathan Haggerty, 'The General' wishes his Scottish counterpart well.

Haggerty says there's no bad blood between him and 'King of the North'.

The 27-year-old Londoner told Sky Sports:

"I’m not that bitter, if I’m honest. But you know what, he’s going to obviously have a head start because he’s going to learn from my mistakes and not to rush in. He’s going to do what he has to do and not rush in. Yeah, wish him the best."
