Belal Muhammad's recent criticism of Ariel Helwani had a UFC veteran linking their rocky relationship to the Israel-Palestine conflict. However, the former UFC fighter refrained from taking a direct approach. Instead, he highlighted that Helwani had Jewish roots and questioned his audience about the reason behind his rough relationship with Muhammad.

Muhammad recently caught up with Jon Anik where he mentioned how Helwani had tried to undermine his achievements. 'Remember the Name' also concluded that all of this was because of the hate Helwani had for him. But it was the former UFC welterweight, Jake Shields, who took a sarcastic approach and tried to find out the reason behind Helwani's hatred for the first-ever Palestinian UFC champion, Muhammad.

Shields retweeted the video of Anik and Muhammad's conversation with a caption that read:

"I wonder why Jewish Journalist Ariel Helwani hates the first Palestinian champion."

The 45-year-old took special care towards highlighting that Helwani was a Jew while Muhammad was a Palestinian. Hence, it's quite understandable that he cited the Israel-Palestine conflict as the reason behind the bitter relationship between Helwani and Muhammad.

Belal Muhammad isn't the only one who has a rocky relationship with Ariel Helwani

Ariel Helwani may be Canadian by birth. But he is also a Jew which automatically makes him a citizen of Israel. Belal Muhammad is a Palestinian-born residing in America. But native Palestinians have been in a constant state of resistance against Israel, whom they view as the occupiers of their land.

However, Muslims all around the world also criticize Israel, since the majority of the Palestinian population, including Belal Muhammad, are Muslims.

This is why the Dagestani camp of fighters, including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, and others, never visit Helwani's YouTube podcast or appear with him in interviews. Well, the Israel-Palestine conflict doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. It also indicates that the end to the rocky relationship between these fighters and Helwani is a farfetched thought for now.
