UFC Vegas 96 was headlined by an intriguing middleweight matchup between Caio Borralho and former title challenger Jared Cannonier. The event was held on Aug. 24 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Borralho walked into the fight with a 16-fight undefeated streak, which included victories over Paul Craig and Abus Magomedov.
Meanwhile, Cannonier was coming off a TKO loss against Nassourdine Imavov.
The co-main event featured a strawweight clash between Tabatha Ricci and UFC veteran Angela Hill.
Main event
The UFC Vegas 96 main event was an exciting contest where both fighters gave a good account of themselves. On several occasions, Borralho landed heavy shots and had 'The Killa Gorilla' in trouble.
The fight eventually went the 25-minute distance and ended in a unanimous decision victory for Borralho. The three judges scored the bout 49-45, 49-45 and 48-46 in favor of 'The Natural'.
Tabatha Ricci gets her hand raised in the co-main event
Angela Hill walked into UFC Vegas 96 with a two-fight win streak. Ricci, on the other hand, was coming off a split-decision win against Tecia Pennington.
'Baby Shark' outclassed her opponent for the majority of the fight and edged out a unanimous decision victory. All three judges scored the bout 29-28 in favor of the Brazilian.

A middleweight scrap between Robert Valentin and Ryan Loder also took place on the card. With a second-round knockout, Loder became 'The Ultimate Fighter' (TUF) Season 32 middleweight tournament winner.
Mairon Santos and Kaan Ofli locked horns in a featherweight clash. Santos put on a striking clinic and scored an impressive knockout in the second round of the fight. With the win, Santos was declared the featherweight victor of TUF Season 32.
Michael Morales continued his impressive undefeated run at UFC Vegas 96 as he finished veteran Neil Magny with a TKO in the opening round of the fight. The Ecuadorian is now 17-0 as a professional fighter.
Gerald Meerschaert and Edmen Shahbazyan locked horns in the opening fight of the main card. The back-and-forth affair ended with a second-round arm-triangle choke victory for 'GM3'.
Cong Wang and Victoria Leonardo opened up the fight card in a flyweight bout. Wang made light work of her opponent and knocked her out just 62 seconds into the fight.
