While Jon Jones is widely regarded as the best mixed martial artist of all time, a UFC veteran is convinced that 'Bones' has a flaw that Tom Aspinall could capitalize on.

Jones has never tasted defeat apart from a DQ loss against Matt Hamill in 2009 for throwing illegal elbows.

Along his illustrious career, the American captured both the heavyweight and light heavyweight titles and bested some of the greatest fighters to have ever graced the octagon.

'Bones' boasts a credible standup game and world-class wrestling skills. Couple that with his unparalleled fight IQ, none have yet figured out a way to get the better of him.

Despite his absolute domination in the cage, former heavyweight champion Frank Mir, who has trained with 'Bones' in the past, believes the fighter has a little-known chink in his armor.

As Mir sees it, speed seems to be Jones' supposed kryptonite. Discussing the topic with talkSPORT MMA, the 45-year-old said:

"Jon's chink in his armor from when I sparred with him is he doesn't do well with speed. If you're fast it gives him a hard time. He uses his length to overcome that and then if you come in fast and maybe miss, then he grabs you and wears you down with his wrestling ability."

The mixed martial arts legend pointed out that fast and explosive fighters like Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, and Dominick Reyes were all having moments of success on the feet against 'Bones'.

Aspinall is often touted as one of the fastest UFC heavyweights. Many believe the Englishman possesses unusual speed and footwork for his weight class.

Talking about Aspinall's chances against the incumbent heavyweight champion, Mir said:

"Again movement, speed. So Tom kind of represents that, he's a very, explosive fast handed heavyweight with good movement. So there is a good chance he could be a very dangerous fight for Jon because some of his attributes are weaknesses of Jon."

Jones is expected to headline a pay-per-view card against Stipe Miocic in November. If he gets through the former champion, 'Bones' will most likely lock horns with Aspinall in a title unification bout next.
