UFC 307 commentary and broadcast team: Joe Rogan returns to join two broadcasting veterans in Salt Lake City

Joe Rogan is all set to be a part of the broadcast team for UFC 307. Many view it as one of the most high-profile fight cards of the 2024 calendar year. Rogan, who's worked a reduced commentary schedule in recent years, is known to feature as a part of the UFC broadcasting team only for major PPV (pay-per-view) cards that transpire in the U.S.

The highly-anticipated UFC 307 goes down at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A., on Oct. 5, 2024. It has been confirmed that the UFC 307 commentary desk will feature Jon Anik, Daniel Cormier, and Joe Rogan. Megan Olivi serves as the roving/in-arena reporter.

Anik is the longtime play-by-play commentator who signed with the UFC in 2011 and officially debuted in his promotional commentary role in 2012. Cormier is an experienced analyst, color commentator, a UFC Hall of Famer, and a former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion. Olivi is a veteran reporter who's covered multiple sports for over a decade.

Meanwhile, Rogan is a podcast mogul who helms the world-renowned JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) podcast. He first appeared in the UFC in 1997 but departed after a few years. Rogan was eventually re-signed and has been the organization's color commentator since 2002.

Additionally, the other on-screen segments will feature familiar faces. Dan Hellie hosted the 'UFC 307: Morning Weigh-In Show,' while retired MMA great Daniel Cormier, ex-UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and former fighter Laura Sanko also featured as analysts.

Anthony Smith is booked to serve as a desk analyst. The veteran Bruce Buffer will helm the fight announcer duties inside the octagon. Meanwhile, Olivi's roving reporter entails conducting backstage interviews before and/or after the fights, besides providing extra pertinent information.

Joe Rogan addresses UFC 307 headlining fight between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr.

The UFC 307 headlining matchup pits UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira against fellow striking savant Khalil Rountree Jr. On episode 164 of the JRE MMA Show, Joe Rogan recently hosted Pereira's longtime rival and former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

The duo seemingly concurred that though Pereira was the more accomplished kickboxer, Rountree's speed and power could trouble him.

Furthermore, Rogan harked back to Rountree's experience against high-level kickboxers inside the octagon, particularly recalling his knockout victory against kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki in the UFC. Rogan stated:

"Khalil's fast. He hits f**king hard. And he throws that -- the thing that he did with 'Lionheart' [Anthony Smith], he throws that off-speed sh** sometimes. He'll give you a little of this, and then he jolts in on you. That off-speed uppercut was nasty."
