Sean Strickland got back in the win column at UFC 302 as he defeated Paulo Costa via split decision to defend his position as the top-ranked middleweight contender. 'Tarzan' recently had his say about the relationship of Pat Barry and Rose Namajunas, which he has criticized several times in the past, accusing the former mixed martial artist of grooming her.

The pair reportedly met while the two-time UFC women's strawweight champion was still in high school. Barry later claimed that he fell in love with her the first time he saw her. He also revealed that they had been dating for almost five years in 2014 when Namajunas was 22 years old.

A fan shared a before and after side-by-side of 'Thug Rose', questioning:

"Wtf happened?"

The No.1-ranked middleweight responded, claiming:

"Pat the predator Berry happened"

Fans reacted to the former middleweight champion aiming for the couple. @valstrikesmma claimed:

"NAH THIS IS WILD😭"

@brax_moore_more suggested that Strickland was the first to make the situation publicly known:

"I think Sean was one of the first to bring that whole situation to the masses."

@AGoldin12789 stated that 'Tarzan's comments affected Namajunas' mental health:

"Here Sean goes again talking about other peoples wives and marriages when he has already made strong statements about how it is abhorrent. If you actually cared about Rose the right way to handle this is privately. Rose has been through a lot in life and she said Sean’s bullying on this subject affected her mental health"

@WadeTownsendMan speculated that the two-time women's strawweight champion has internal problems:

"To be clearer she hates herself because she’s stayed with her rapist and abuser so she attempts to make her outside look like how she feels on her inside She’s still hot tho even trying to be ugly"

Sean Strickland defended his spot in the middleweight rankings when he defeated Paulo Costa via split decision at UFC 302. The No.1-ranked middleweight took to X the following day to reveal that he will sit out for a title opportunity, stating:

"Time to sit and wait for a title shot.........."

Check out Sean Strickland's tweet on waiting for a title shot below:

Strickland suffered a close split decision defeat to Dricus du Plessis in his first title defense. While he angled for an immediate rematch, it appears that two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will receive the next title opportunity. It is unclear if the promotion is planning to have 'Tarzan' face the winner of that bout.
