Alex Pereira will be making his third walk to the octagon in 2024 at UFC 307 but one of his former opponents is still keeping an eye on him. Despite losing to Pereira by knockout in the first round at UFC 300, Jamahal Hill still believes that he is in the conversation for a rematch.

Hill made a guest appearance on the Sept. 23 edition of Aljamain Sterling's podcast, The Weekly Scraps, along with UFC lightweight Nazim Sadykhov. On the episode, Hill told Sterling that he is intrigued by Pereira's next title defense against Khalil Rountree Jr. in the UFC 307 main event and will be attending the fight in person.

Hill, who has seen his general perception with fans plummet since his loss to Pereira, received a lot of backlash for the decision on social media. 'Sweet Dreams' has acknowledged that he is likely one or more fights away from getting back to the title but regardless, fans took the statement as the 33-year-old believing that he would get to fight the winner.

One pessimistic fan commented:

"That's the closest he will get to the belt again"

Others reacted:

"Bro thinks if he's ring-side he gon be next"
"Okay but don't say anything delusional please"
"Just let it go Jamahal"

Jamahal Hill's history with Khalil Rountree Jr.

While Jamahal Hill has an obvious history with the UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, it is easy to forget that he was also booked to fight Khalil Rountree Jr. in the co-main event of UFC 303.

Hill and Rountree were expected to be the co-headliners of the Conor McGregor-led International Fight Week card but a positive drug test from the 34-year-old Muay Thai striker stuck a fork in the plans. Rountree would be replaced by Carlos Ulberg but Hill would eventually withdraw from the re-booking due to an injury.

'Sweet Dreams' now believes that due to his recent connection to both Pereira and Rountree, the outcome of the UFC 307 main event will play a big part in who his next opponent will be.
