USean Strickland and Nina-Marie Daniele recently had a back and forth about what the former UFC middleweight champion's plans were for Mexican Independence Day.

For combat sports fans, several big fight cards are set to go down on Saturday night to honor the monumental cultural occasion.

This includes the Noche UFC 306 event at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada featuring a deep card. One that is topped with a pair of title fights as champ Sean O'Malley defends bantamweight gold against Merab Dvalishvili and Alexa Grasso defends her flyweight belt in a trilogy clash against former titleholder Valentina Shevchenko.

Also, boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez defends his unified super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga on the same night for fans of the sweet science. Despite the magnitude of these weekend offerings, it seems like Strickland won't be peeping any of the action and has other plans.

In a recent post of Strickland on Instagram getting in some sparring work, popular content creator Nina-Marie Daniele took to the comment section and asked:

"Any plans for Mexican Independence Day, Sean?"

Strickland responded:

"Ohhh you know I'm gonna do some yard work.. try no[t] to pay taxes..."

Sean Strickland and Nina-Marie Daniele's other interactions

Sean Strickland and Nina-Marie Daniele have had several viral interviews with one another that have gotten MMA social media talking. With Strickland being an outspoken and polarizing soundbite alongside Daniele's provocative and offbeat interview approach, the two are a potent combination in that regard.

Strickland has praised Daniele's interview style since their first time on camera together and appreciates her style which he said was devoid of MMA related questions. The former 185-pound titleholder has in the past claimed that MMA journalism is dead and this is why Daniele has been as successful as she's experienced a meteoric rise within the fight game.

Daniele's account of their first interview was that Strickland had called her a w**re and made accusations that she slept with Jon Jones. Despite this, she called the cage combatant a friend and also described him as a real one.

Even though Sean Strickland has previously went off about how men and win apparently cannot be friends, it seems like he has a pleasant enough rapport with Nina-Marie Daniele.
