Sean O'Malley made headlines this week after going live on Twitch while under the influence of OxyContin, a painkiller he took following surgery to repair a torn labrum in the hip.

The injury occurred before his UFC 306 fight against Merab Dvalishvili, which O'Malley lost by unanimous decision after being dominated in grappling exchanges.

During the stream, O'Malley appeared noticeably loopy, even calling fellow streamer Adin Ross for a freestyle session, much to the amusement and concern of viewers.

Sean O'Malley shares timeline for UFC return

Sean O'Malley has provided an update on his return to the octagon following hip surgery. He expects to be sidelined for six to nine months but remains optimistic about an early return.

In a recent YouTube video, O'Malley shared his recovery timeline, saying:

"I'm going to recover as fast as I possibly can, and I'm gonna get back. Everyone is like, 'Don't come back too soon.' I'm coming back the right amount of soon. I wanna be back ASAP... I want to get these fights in while I'm still, you know, young enough. I turn 30 this month. I want to recover, do everything right, but I want to get back in there April, May, June latest. June will be latest. I think I can be back before that. March even would be crazy, but who knows?"
