Ryan Garcia mocked Devin Haney by claiming he would sue the latter's father, Bill Haney.

In April, Garcia secured one of the biggest boxing upsets of the year. The 26-year-old American superstar was listed as a near six-to-one underdog against then-undefeated opponent Haney. 'KingRy' silenced the critics by battering Haney and knocking him down several times for a majority decision win.

The aftermath of Haney vs Garcia was surprisingly more controversial than the buildup. Garcia tested positive for Ostarine and had his win overturned to a no-contest. He later received a one-year suspension for the drug test.

Haney recently escalated the situation by suing Garcia for their boxing match, accusing the latter of battery and fraud. Earlier this week, 'KingRy' posted a video on X of Haney's father, Bill, before their fight, claiming his son was attempting to ki*l Garcia. The controversial boxer added the following caption:

"I have no other choice but to sue him"

Garcia later posted a separate message accusing Haney of suing him primarily for financial gain on X:

"If Devin needs money this bad I got a sponsorship for him. It’s a new kind of tampon made specifically for men."

Heading into his boxing match against Devin Haney, the mental sanity of Ryan Garcia was questioned due to concerning social media tactics. Fans have since wondered if Garcia intentionally acted crazy to throw off Haney.

Ryan Garcia teases "one tune up" fight following boxing suspension

Boxing superstars don't tend to fight more than two or three times a year. Therefore, Ryan Garcia's one-year suspension is arguably not a severe punishment, especially considering he failed a drug test in a dangerous sport. Garcia recently took to X and had this to say about his suspension:

"Boxing jail going quick I’ll be in the ring in no time I’m already going after the biggest fights. Maybe one tune up bc it’s been a year."

Once Ryan Garcia returns, he could be matched up in a highly-anticipated rematch against Devin Haney. The WBC super lightweight world title fight would be a must-see event, especially considering the latest legal drama.
