Rose Namajunas recently discussed her next bout and named a top-ranked women's flyweight competitor that she is targeting. She noted that she is looking to continue her surge up the rankings at 125 pounds and believes another win will get her closer to a title shot.

'Thug Rose' is currently the No.5 ranked women's flyweight and is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Tracy Cortez last month. It was her second consecutive win as she had also earned a unanimous decision win over Amanda Ribas this past March.

During her appearance on Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson's JAXXON PODCAST, the former strawweight champion expressed interest in fighting Erin Blanchfield. Namajunas mentioned that there is mutual interest between them fighting each other and targeted Madison Square Garden as the venue. She said:

"I like Erin Blanchfield...I think depending on that [current women's flyweight title situation], it's basically number three is right next to her, which is Erin Blanchfield. And she also called me out as well...She likes that fight and I would say it would be awesome if [UFC is] doing Madison Square Garden in November, I'd love to fight there."

Erin Blanchfield recently expressed interest in fighting Rose Namajunas

It is certain that a feeling for a bout is mutual as Erin Blanchfield recently expressed interest in fighting Rose Namajunas.

While speaking to MMA Junkie's Nolan King, Blanchfield mentioned that a bout between herself and Namajunas is logical for both and believes that the former UFC strawweight champion would be an excellent challenge for her. She said:

"I feel like [Namajunas is] a very good fighter. So, someone great to test my skills against and get better fighting her. She's a former champ, that [fight] could easily be a main event of a Fight Night. I think that makes perfect sense."
