Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson defends Conor McGregor after Irishman pulled out of UFC 303: "I don’t give a f*ck"

Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson recently weighed in on Conor McGregor's decision to withdraw from UFC 303 due to an injury. The MMA legend defended the Irishman's decision and noted that he made the decision that he believed was right for him.

'The Notorious' is believed to be out with a short-term injury, so there is optimism that a new date will be announced and that he will still be fighting Michael Chandler this year. They were scheduled to headline UFC 303 on Jun. 29, which set a live gate record for the promotion that reportedly surpassed $20 million.

During his appearance on today's episode of The MMA Hour, the former UFC light heavyweight champion shared his thoughts on the Irishman and his motivation to compete. Jackson mentioned that McGregor doesn't need the money, so it's understandable why he wants to ensure he is healthy when he returns and noted that he will be excited when he does. He said:

"Let that man do what he do. Let him keep entertaining y'all. Don't get all caught up in him pulling out of fights and stuff like that. If he want to come back, let him come back. I wanna see him box. I wanna see Conor McGregor go and do more movies. I think he's done a lot for our sport, made the sport more of a household name. I don't give a f*ck if he pulled out of fights, I'll be here waiting when he comes back."

Dana White awaits Conor McGregor's injury clearance before rescheduling fight with Michael Chandler

Dana White recently confirmed that he will wait for Conor McGregor to be medically cleared to return before rescheduling his bout against Michael Chandler.

Much like Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson stated in the aforementioned appearance, it appears as though the UFC CEO is adopting a similar mindset when rescheduling the bout. While speaking to Sports Business Journal, White mentioned that there are no hard feelings toward McGregor for withdrawing from the bout and will await his injury to heal. He said:

"It's the business, man. This is the way it goes...I'm not going to talk about it [McGregor's return] until when he's healed and he's right. Then we'll look at the landscape and see what we can figure out." [H/T Sports Business Journal]
