Paulo Costa reacted to Tony Ferguson allegedly blocking him on Twitter ('X').

Over the last seven years, Costa has made a name for himself under the UFC banner, establishing a 6-4 promotional record. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old continues to grow his fanbase outside of fighting by posting memes and jokes on social media, including 'X' where he has over 630,000 followers.

Earlier this week, 'Borrachinha' took to 'X' and posted a photo accusing Ferguson, a fellow UFC fan-favorite, of blocking him. Costa added the following caption to provide his reaction, which is more than likely satire:

"ONE OF THE SADDEST DAYS OF MY TWEETING DAYS. NOW THE BUSINESS IS TO TOE THE LINE, SHAKE THE DUST OFF AND PUT A STONE IN IT."

Tony Ferguson and Paulo Costa are both coming off losses in the Octagon. Firstly, Costa last fought on June 1 when he faced Sean Strickland in the UFC 302 co-main event. The ranked middleweights fought for five rounds, with Strickland emerging victorious by split decision, which should have been unanimous.

Meanwhile, Ferguson recently fought on August 3 during the UFC Abu Dhabi main card. 'El Cucuy' couldn't overcome the grappling pedigree of Michael Chiesa and suffered a first-round submission defeat, extending his losing streak to eight.

What's next for Paulo Costa and Tony Ferguson in their respective fighting careers?

Paulo Costa has arguably struggled with his aggressiveness over his last two fights, which he lost against Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland. Following UFC 302, the Brazilian middleweight vowed to return to his previous form and focus on securing knockouts with a kill-or-be-killed mentality.

It's unclear if Costa will fight again in 2024. Once he does return, the number eight-ranked 'Borrachinha' is expected to face another ranked opponent.

As for Tony Ferguson, his latest loss against Michael Chiesa was another brutal addition to his losing streak. Shortly after getting his hand raised, Chiesa turned down the post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier to allow Ferguson to speak.

Ferguson removed his gloves and most people expected him to announce his retirement. Instead, 'El Cucuy' put one glove in the middle of the Octagon and semi-retired, leaving the door open for a potential return.

Unfortunately, Ferguson likely won't receive another opportunity in the UFC. It'll be intriguing to see if the former interim lightweight champion joins another promotion.
