Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov displayed exceptional grit and a disciplined approach throughout his fighting career, which saw him retire undefeated with a 29-0 record. After retiring from the sport in 2020, 'The Eagle' has embraced the role of a coach and has played an instrumental part in the successes of Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, and several other fighters from the team.

Nurmagomedov is preserving the legacy of his late father Abdulmanap and imparting his wisdom to guide young fighters to success. Much like his father, the 35-year-old has also established a reputation as an authoritative mentor who pushes fighters to their limits. A video has resurfaced on X where Nurmagomedov can be seen in action testing the mettle of the fighters. He says:

"Two guys are going to push you guys. I'm going to say all the time change [and] different guy will attack. Guys try to kill your opponent. I don't need you to [take it easy]."

Fans on X couldn't help but marvel at Nurmagomedov's disciplinarian approach. They wrote:

"MMA is such a brutal sport."
"Arguably the most dominant fighter in UFC history. Khabib was ruthless in the octagon."
"Man, I would do anything to train with this dude."
"No lies detected. Try to kill them... it's only fair."
"I'd love for him to coach me for half a year."

Belal Muhammad reflects on Khabib Nurmagomedov's comments predicting the downfall of some fighters

Khabib Nurmagomedov had accurately predicted that Tony Ferguson could potentially never return to his prime self after the one-sided beatdown he endured against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. Ferguson, who was once hailed as the biggest threat to Nurmagomedov's reign, has succumbed to eight straight losses since 2020.

Reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad consistently trains with Nurmagomedov and his team and honors the Dagestani with utmost respect. Muhammad is weighing in options for his first title defense and former welterweight king Kamaru Usman and undefeated prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov have emerged as leading names.

Speaking about Usman, Muhammad believes that it's difficult to sustain excellence, considering that 'The Nigerian Nightmare' has lost three fights in a row. Speaking in a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, he said:

"Khabib [Nurmagomedov] said it from the beginning. He said you're always going to lose. There's a time for your thing. He said it about Kamaru [Usman], he said it about Tony Ferguson, said these guys are going to learn the hard way, and for me he said, 'If I stayed in, I'd probably end up losing sometime.' I don't think he would lose."
