Michael Chandler appears to have moved on from Conor McGregor, with the former title challenger set to face Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 in a stunning turn of events. The Irishman has since claimed he is "out of the loop" regarding the UFC's plans for his return, prompting 'Iron' to share some advice with him.

McGregor and Chandler were expected to clash in 2023 following the conclusion of season 31 of 'The Ultimate Fighter', airing from May 30 - Aug. 15. But their prospective fight date was pushed into 2024, and now it appears that their clash will not materialize.

'The Notorious', a co-owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), discussed Chandler's rematch with Oliveira during a press conference following BKFC 66, saying this:

"As far as Chandler rematching Oliveira, I'm happy with the date, it's November. Maybe we can still do it after, if [the UFC] are not gonna line me out for December, or January/February... I'm just a bit out of the loop with it. All I can do is carry on doing what I'm doing."

'Iron' took to X to respond to the Irishman, who had claimed that Chandler avoided a fight with 'The Notorious'. He wrote this:

""Carry on doing what you're doing" - sorry you're out of the loop @TheNotoriousMMA"

Michael Chandler has UFC gold in mind as he explains decision to fight Charles Oliveira

Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira went to war at UFC 262 for the lightweight title, with 'do Bronx' securing a second-round KO win.

Since, they have gone 1-2 and 3-2 in the UFC, respectively, and have now been paired up again in a potential lightweight title eliminator set to co-main event UFC 309 in November.

With 'Iron' having been expected to face Conor McGregor upon his return, the news of his clash with Oliveira has come as a surprise. The former title challenger took to YouTube following the fight announcement to explain his decision, saying this:

"I took a quick little detour to chase this thing, the opportunity of The Ultimate Fighter. Six weeks filming The Ultimate Fighter, 12 hours, 12 weeks on ESPN... I beat Charles Oliveira, I become the number one contender... I can choose to go fight Islam [Makhachev] or Arman [Tsarukyan]. I believe it's gonna be Islam."
