Michael Chandler recently put Arman Tsarukyan on blast after claiming that he would be willing to wait for his UFC lightweight title shot. He noted that the No.1 lightweight contender was critical of him when he had a similar stance regarding a bout against Conor McGregor and let him know about it.

Tsarukyan is next in line to challenge Islam Makhachev for the lightweight championship, but he will have to wait until the Dagestani recovers from the hand injury he sustained against Dustin Poirier. The 27-year-old has since made it known that he will be willing to wait even if it takes a year to avenge his loss and become champion.

The comments caught the former Bellator lightweight champion's attention as he weighed in and blasted Tsarukyan. Chandler noted that it mirrored his situation with McGregor and mentioned that it was a hypocritical comment, especially considering how vocal he was about him:

"Wait a second @ArmanUfc - you said you'd wait another year? That would put you out for 17 months. You'd wait 17 months for a fight? Pot, meet kettle. [Thinking face emoji]"

Michael Chandler continues calling out Arman Tsarukyan for his comments

Michael Chandler continued calling out Arman Tsarukyan for his past comments about him. 'Iron' noted that he anticipates a bout against the winner of Tsarukyan's lightweight title bout against Islam Makhachev.

A title fight for Chandler is very much a realistic possibility as Dana White confirmed that his rematch against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 will be a five-round number-one contender bout.

Chandler tweeted that he believes that Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan will take place much sooner and turned his attention back to the No.1 contender spot. He said:

"We will see how [Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan] plays out. The fight will happen way before a year...both guys are studs...however, you can't say this after calling me out for waiting. Best decision of my professional life, BTW. see y'all Nov. 16 #ufc309"
