Kayla Harrison says "fat and happy" Amanda Nunes struggles with loss of limelight, sends warning for "talking sh*t" about ATT

Kayla Harrison has shared her thoughts on former UFC multi-division champion Amanda Nunes' retirement from the sport. Harrison recently had a conversation with John Morgan for Grind City Media.

During her time there, the 34-year-old UFC bantamweight explained her reasoning for not calling Nunes out for a fight. Harrison then shared she had no personal animosity towards 'The Lioness' but she was offended by the Brazilian taking shots at American Top Team.

"I didn't call Amanda out because Amanda's retired, you know? I didn't wanna be that girl that's like calling out old people, retired people, like people who are fat and happy sitting on the couch. I'm happy for her. I think she also struggles to not be in the limelight still.

"So, I think when I had my moment, maybe she needed to come in, which is fine and I have no beef with Amanda. Listen, the only problem I have with Amanda is she talks s**t about [my team]... Like, personally, I think she's great but don't talk s**t about my team."

After building a 16-1 professional record, Harrison made her UFC debut at the historic UFC 300 event. The card was held on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Ohio native took on former champion Holly Holm in a bantamweight bout that night. Harrison rose to the occasion and finished Holm with a rear-naked choke in the second round of the fight.

The Olympic gold medalist is now expected to take on Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307. The event will take place on Oct. 5 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The fight card will be headlined by a light heavyweight championship fight between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr.
