Kayla Harrison recently addressed whether she has beef with Amanda Nunes, especially considering their well documented history with each other. Both competitors were former teammates at American Top Team and among the most successful female fighters.

Although the two-time Olympic gold medalist was in the PFL, there was plenty of intrigue and discussion surrounding a potential bout against 'Lioness' when she was the reigning two-division UFC champion. That never materialized as Nunes went on to lose her women's bantamweight title to Julianna Pena, before regaining it and then retiring from the sport the following year.

However, that appears to have changed as Harrison is now the number-one contender for Pena's title and the Brazilian is hinting at a return.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the former PFL lightweight champion admitted that there is no personal animosity between herself and 'Lioness'.

Harrison mentioned that although there is no personal gripe, she does take offense to Nunes speaking negatively about the American Top Team:

"I just don't like the sh*t [Nunes] said about my team. I don't have any personal issues with Amanda at all, I never did, not one issue with her. I don't take it personally, I don't. I'm ATT for life, but I personally don't have an issue for her. I have an issue like, don't talk sh*t about my team, that's it. Like, respect where you came from. Respect the people that pulled you out of the bottom." [17:36 - 18:05]

Kayla Harrison believes Amanda Nunes is a tougher matchup than Julianna Pena

In addition to addressing whether she has any personal animosity toward Amanda Nunes, Kayla Harrison disclosed that she believes the former two-division UFC champion would be a tougher matchup than Julianna Pena.

During the aforementioned interview, Harrison mentioned that Nunes is the better fighter and then quickly sounded off on Pena to select a date for their women's bantamweight title fight:

"Everybody's tough until you beat them...Amanda [Nunes is a tougher matchup than Pena]...Whenever [Pena wants to fight], I'm ready...I have to remember that I'm not dealing with normal people when I speak. I said I needed to take some time off...Time off was like a week. I took a week off, I had a week vacation like, let's fu**ing go." [18:35 - 19:26]
