Israel Adesanya watched intently, as his former nemesis Alex Pereira made his third successful title defense at UFC 307, knocking out Khalil Rountree Jr. in the fourth round.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, 'The Last Stylebender' can be seen catching the fight live on TV, with comedians Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh among others.

Suffice it to say, Adesanya had a premonition that Pereira would get the job done. During the contest, the 35-year-old rightly predicted that if Rountree Jr. couldn't score a knockout in the second round, the tides would shift in the Brazilian's favor.

True to his prediction, the second round proved to be the American's last competitive round. While Adesanya had a mini scare when 'Poatan' was momentarily staggered after getting hit with a right hand, 'The War Horse' failed to capitalize on it and things started to go downhill for him from there.

After the second round, the Nigerian-born Kiwi praised the champion's cardio, noting that he recovers well in between rounds.

As Pereira amped up his pressure in the third round, Adesanya immediately sensed that he was hunting for a finish. After the light heavyweight kingpin secured the win in the fourth round, 'The Last Stylebender' showered praises on his former foe, while lauding Rountree for his grit and resilience:

"He [Pereira] is that guy right now... Shout out to Khalil because, heart. Fighting with a broken nose, f****d eye, and intelligence not to blow his nose even in the fight, respect."

Israel Adesanya rules out UFC trilogy fight with Alex Pereira

Israel Adesanya has a longstanding rivalry with Alex Pereira. However 'The Last Stylebender' is not interested in rematching Pereira again.

For context, Adesanya is now 1-3 against Pereira in combat sports. 'Poatan' holds two kickboxing wins against 'The Last Stylebender' and famously captured the UFC middleweight title in a decisive TKO win at UFC 281.

In contrast, Adesanya's sole victory over Pereira came in their UFC 287 rematch, where he scored a second-round KO.

However, in a recent interview with MMA legend Demetrious Johnson, he ruled out a UFC trilogy fight between the pair, saying:

"I beat him once. But watch this, if I fight him again and knock him out what's that? What are they going to say? Oh it's 2-3, No, [we need] best out of seven. I'm like bro... I've only got certain more fight left."
