Tracy Cortez recently sported a striking new hairstyle after her dramatic weigh-in incident ahead of her fight with Rose Namajunas.

Cortez needed to shed half a pound to reach the 126-pound flyweight limit for the UFC on ESPN 59 main event. In an unorthodox move, she opted to cut off a handful of her hair to meet the weight requirement.

The fight itself saw Namajunas defeat Cortez via unanimous decision, ending Cortez's undefeated run in the UFC.

Following the fight, Cortez posted pictures of her new look on social media:

“Nuevo look 🖤✂️”

Tracy Cortez’s career in the UFC so far

Tracy Cortez has been a force to be reckoned with in the UFC’s flyweight division since her debut in 2019.

Cortez’s journey to the UFC began with a successful amateur career, followed by stints in Invicta Fighting Championships and other promotions. She secured a UFC contract after a convincing win over Mariya Agapova on Dana White's Contender Series season 3.

Her UFC debut was a victory via unanimous decision, although both she and her opponent missed weight. She has since gone on to defeat Bea Malecki, Justine Kish (in a catchweight bout), and Melissa Gatto. A split decision win over Jasmine Jasudavicius further solidified her position in the rankings.

Cortez’s recent loss to Rose Namajunas marked the end of her undefeated run in the UFC, but she remains a top contender in the flyweight division with a professional fight record of 11 wins with two losses so far.
