Marlon Vera recently shared photos from his training session with Yair Rodriguez. 'Chito' was seen drilling striking combinations with one of the most dynamic strikers in the sport.

'El Pantera' is known for his crisp and unpredictable striking combos, which Vera could benefit from incorporating into his game, especially since his first title shot saw him outclassed by 'Suga' Sean O'Malley at UFC 299 in March this year.

The photos showcased the gritty work the former title challengers are putting in. Vera is known for his notorious durability and impactful striking, but adding a few sneaky combos into his game could work wonders for the Ecuadorian. Here's what he posted:

Vera is 3-1 in his last four fights, with the latest outing seeing him lose via unanimous decision to Deiveson Figueiredo last month.

Rodriguez soared to the top of the ultra-competitive 145-pound division, but he fell short of winning the title after being defeated by former champion Alexander Volkanovski and former title challenger Brian Ortega.

Both fighters are on the hunt for a definitive victory over another top contender to further their position toward the title.

Marlon Vera shares his insight on the main event of Noche UFC 306

Marlon Vera recently shared his insight on what went down at the bantamweight main event at Noche UFC 306. In the main event of the same card, Merab Dvalishvili handsomely defeated Sean O'Malley to stake his claim at the 135-pound division title.

Vera, who's never too far away from a title shot, shared his insight on why the 'Suga' couldn't deliver at Noche UFC 306 against 'The Machine'. 'Chito' also drew comparison to MMA stalwart Conor McGregor's performance against Chad Mendes and how the Montana native could have done things to retain the belt. He said:

"That was a great fight. I really thought if Sean could have hit Merab early in the fight, things could change based on...he's [Dvalishvili] been dropped by [Henry] Cejudo and Marlon Moraes...But he [O'Malley] just couldn't land. Merab [had] that like, jerky movement. Like, it's hard to hit him."

The Ecuadorian fighter added:

"Comparing the fight to Chad Mendes and Conor [McGregor], every time Conor got up, he would [grab] Chad right away, he will be on his face right away. Every time Sean got up, there was a little separation. So that probably messed his rhythm and we all know that [Merab] can just take you done over and over. So I got like that, in my opinion, you just gotta sit down and fight him [because] he's gonna take you down regardless. Might as well go crazy on him."
