Tyson Fury recently detailed what mindset he would carry into the ring for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk. It is pertinent to note that Fury lost his WBC heavyweight championship to Usyk on 18 May this year via split decision. 'The Gypsy King' has been waiting for vengeance since then.

The first encounter between Fury and Usyk started pretty evenly with both men having their moments. The British boxer also had his Ukrainian rival backing up after he landed a vicious right hook in the sixth round. However, the ninth round of the fight proved to be disastrous as he suffered a knockdown of a right hook-left hook combo from 'The Cat'.

But now that the date of the rematch has been announced, Fury wants to go out guns blazing. In an interview with TNT Sports, 'The Gypsy King' detailed his approach for the Usyk rematch saying:

"I'm gonna go in there with destroy mode. Last time I went to box him, I was being cautious... Anybody can get caught as we have seen in a lot of these heavyweight fights. But this time I'm not going for a points decision. I'm gonna knock that motherfu**er out."

Tyson Fury feels he will fight better due to being a challenger this time

Tyson Fury claimed the WBC heavyweight championship with a victory over Deontay Wilder on Feb. 22, 2020. However, his Dec. 21 rematch against Oleksandr Usyk would be the first time in four years that Fury would walk into the ring as a challenger.

But the 36-year-old is pretty happy with his 'challenger' status as well. Fury recently appeared in an interview on the YouTube channel Undisputed where he mentioned that he will fight even better as a challenger:

"For the first time in years, I’m going in there as a challenger, not a champion. And I believe that I’m better as a challenger, always, because I’ve got that goal of achieving something and it’s giving me a fire underneath."
