In an episode of Anatomy of a Fighter that followed Islam Makhachev's UFC 294 win over Alexander Volkanovski, UFC boss Dana White was seen singing praises of the fighters that fought in the main and co-main events.

UFC 294 saw two last minute changes, as Alexander Volkanovski replaced the injured Charles Oliveira in the main event, and Kamaru Usman stepped in for Paulo Costa to face Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main event.

Dana White, who needed Volkanovski and Usman to essentially save the card, was thrilled, and expressed his satisfaction to Usman and Makhachev backstage. Speaking to them, he said:

"You (referring to Makhachev), Volkanovksi, you know, Khamzat, Usman and here we are. Forty five f**king thousand dollars a ticket for the VIP. That's why. That's exactly why. Because people love that sh*t. I love that sh*t."

Prior to that, White also gave Islam an update on the promise he made to him earlier. Dana White had said that he would put Islam Makhachev's quote up at the UFC Apex or PI, and it looks like the UFC CEO has followed through on his promise.

Speaking on the quote, White said:

"As soon as you walk into the Apex, with the back way where the fighters walk in, it's right there. F**king look at that. Love that sh*t!"

What did Islam Makhachev say to grab Dana White's attention?

Many fans are curious as to what exactly Islam Makhachev said to get such a strong reaction out of Dana White. In an interview, White said:

"I gotta read this quote to you guys from Islam Makhachev. This is the kind of stuff I'm talking to you guys about right here. So think about this, you get the call to take this fight short notice, to take on Volk. He says 'what does this title represent? It means that you're the best in the world. If you're the best in the world, what does it matter who is standing across from you? What do I say? No? Never.' I love it."
