Calvin Kattar, the No.5-ranked UFC featherweight, is one of the best strikers in the promotion. He is known for his high-volume striking and prefers to stand in the pocket and trade.

However, according to official UFC stats, among the top 10 featherweights, Kattar is the most hittable fighter with a strike-absorption rate of 7.15 per minute. Following him is No. 3-ranked Brian Ortega, with a strike-absorption rate of 6.66. In third place is former champ Max Holloway, whose number sits at 4.89.

A post by Reddit user u/Hopeful-Anywhere5054 shows Kattar's individual fight stats. The stats showcase his numbers in terms of strikes thrown and absorbed, and how he compares with all 11 of his UFC opponents.

According to the post, the highest volume of strikes Calvin Kattar ever threw was against Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249, where he landed 6.65 strikes per minute. He absorbed 7.29 strikes per minute from 'Lil Heathen'.

The lowest volume of strikes came against Renato Moicano at UFC 223, where he threw an average of 2.73 strikes per minute. He absorbed 7.73 strikes from the Brazilian in the fight.

Against Max Holloway at UFC Fight Island 7, Kattar absorbed a whopping 17.80 strikes per minute. The fight was a one-sided beatdown from start to finish, during which Kattar managed to throw 5.32 strikes per minute.

The lowest number of strikes he took was against Ricardo Lamas at UFC 238, with an average of 2.93 strikes absorbed per minute. He had a strike rate of 5.32 strikes per minute against Lamas.

Kattar stands at No. 4 in terms of the total number of significant strikes landed among featherweights. Max Holloway is at the top of the rankings with a strike rate of 7.24 strikes landed per minute.

Champion Volkanovski comes in second with a strike rate of 6.79 strikes landed per minute. Sodiq Yusuff is in third place with a strike rate of 5.29 strikes landed per minute.


Calvin Kattar vs. Arnold Allen: Potential barnburner?

This weekend, Calvin Kattar will return to the octagon to face Arnold Allen in a crucial contest towards the top of the division. Allen is currently on an 11-fight win streak and is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Dan Hooker.

Kattar has the experience edge over Allen with 29 career fights. Kattar also has the experience of fighting five rounds in his last four fights. His only career losses have come through unanimous decisions.

At UFC Vegas 63, Calvin Kattar will make his fifth headline appearance in the UFC.
